| Tiger Shark records fall at MIT Specialty meet
Forty-two swimmers from the Greater Manchester YMCA Tiger Sharks took to the pool at MIT’s Zesiger Pool in Boston, MA for a team specialty meet from January 9 thru January 10. The Tiger Sharks were among over 800 swimmers from 18 teams from New England to compete in the meet. Each of the forty two swimmers who competed at the meet achieved at least one personal best time. The events were swum as 12 & under and 13 & over timed finals.
In the 12 & under boys events, Jeremie Bolduc of Manchester lopped over 10 seconds of his time in the 50 Backstroke. Brandon Campbell of Goffstown swam a personal best time in the 100 Freestyle, dropping close to 13 seconds off his time. Dwight Childers of Henniker also clocked a best time in the 100 Freestyle, taking close to 17 seconds off of his best time. Julian Chun of Bedford achieved several best times, including in the 50 Backstroke, the 50 Freestyle and the 50 Breaststroke. Alex Tjie of Bedford swam to personal bests in three events, including the 100 Freestyle. Matt Bisson of Manchester slashed over 23 seconds off his previous time in the 200 Freestyle and also achieved best times in both the 100 Freestyle and the 50 Backstroke. Jeff Sampson of Bedford knocked over 16 seconds of his time in the 100 Freestyle.
In 12 & under girls events, Jenna Charlat of Bedford cruised to a personal best in the 50 Freestyle. Abby Tjie of Bedford knocked over 20 seconds off her time in the 100 Freestyle. Lydia Barrett dropped over 7 seconds in the 100 Backstroke. Dominique Bolduc of Manchester sliced over 11 seconds off her previous best time in the 200 Freestyle. Mikayla Bolduc of Manchester carved close to 20 seconds off of her time in the 100 Freestyle. Anita Childers of Henniker had a fantastic meet, achieving personal best times in seven of eight events, including knocking over six seconds off both the 100 Freestyle and the 100 Backstroke. Keara Kendall of Goffstown chopped over 14 seconds off her previous best in the 100 Freestyle. Vivien Merryfield of Mont Vernon also had a strong meet, chopping over 14 seconds off her time in the 200 Freestyle and over 10 seconds off her time in the 100 Breaststroke. Mei Brown of New Boston cut over 15 seconds of her previous best time in the 100 Breaststroke.
Three 12 & under swimmers posted new team records at the meet. Maeve Hunt of Weare set a new team record in the girls 8 & under 100 Freestyle with a time of 1:16.70. Nina Levine of Bedford set new team records in the girls 11 & 12 year age group in 100 & 200 Butterfly and in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 1:12.05. Keelin Kendall of Goffstown set a new team record in the girls 11 & 12 age group in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 3:03.30
In the 13 & over mens events, Greg Levine of Bedford achieved several personal best times, most notably the 400 I.M. and the 200 Backstroke. Niles Lowe of Derry swam carved out best times in the both the 50 & 100 Freestyle events. Chandler Tramposch of Bedford knocked over 5 seconds off of his previous best times in both the 200 Breaststroke and the 200 I.M. In 13 & over womens events, Laura Anderson of Weare took over 16 seconds off her previous best time in the 400 I.M. and over 10 seconds off her time in the 200 Butterfly. Sarah Barrett of Goffstown cruised to best times in the 200 Freestyle and the 200 Breaststroke, bettering her previous time in the Breaststroke by over 8 seconds.
Eva Childers of Henniker set three team records in the womens 13 – 14 age group during the meet in the 400 I.M., the 500 Freestyle and the 200 Backstroke.
Other swimmers achieving personal best times at the meet include: Shayna Boisvert, Dillon Campbell, Elliot Chun, Holly Darby, Mary Darby, Georgia Dubois, Katherine Dubois, Syrena Falkengren, Jake Leonard, Ryan Leonard, Connor Lowe, Sienna Mayer, Rachel Soldado, Bernard Suwirjo, Gordon Suwirjo, Hendrick Suwirjo and Gautham Upadrasta.
